Optics and electro-optics are another of the mainstay technologies at Hudson Research. Our in-house optical shop and labs are capable of research, development, and fabrication of modern optical systems. We build our own telescopes for IR remote sensing applications. Our metrology capabilities allow routine measurements to fractions of a wavelength of light. Our work in analog optical computers has resulted in several basic patents. We are the inventors of the variable electro-optical mirror, an electro-optical device that can be a window, beamsplitter, mirror, or waveplate with tunable spectral characteristics depending on how it is biased. We manufacture a line of Optical Test Instrumentation and a line of specialized Polarization Test Instruments.
